About the Wine

At Greenock Creek, each wine is produced from small, individual patches of grapes, each reflecting its own distinctive Barossa terroir. This Cabernet Sauvignon is made from a small vineyard of old dry-grown vines on the Roennfeldt Road property in Seppeltsfield, renowned for yielding fruit of exceptional style and quality.

After five years of careful tending, the 2010 vintage was released as an outstanding expression of Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon.

Critic Tasting Note

“The panforte aromas typical of this tiny sub-region are here: nutmeg and ground coriander seed with all the nuts and dried fruits and cooked honey; an analogy that even includes the dusting of icing sugar that decorates that lovely Siena cake. It's a deeply satisfying sensation that tempts the drinker to sneak off for a few days and selfishly savour the wine alone. While the wine is of modest alcohol, this is not to suggest it's light. On the contrary, it seems heavy in weight as much as densely-flavoured. It just sits there, gradually letting its fine velvety tannins and firm acid build till it weighs the tongue down, setting the brain a-dancing in awe.”
