Accolades & Reviews

• Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate – 97 Points (Tasted May 2024, Drink 2024–2055)
• The Wine Front – 97 Points (Gary Walsh)

“Selected from six distinctive parcels from the east-facing slope of Roennfeldt Road in Marananga. Perfumed and floral, blueberry pie, raspberry, spice, grilled meat, subtle wild herb and liquorice. Full bodied but not heavy, with succulent red and black berries, a distinct ‘mineral’ feel and layers of thick graphite tannin tempering the bold fruit. Lush fruit and tannin carry through an exceptionally long finish. Drink 2019–2035+.”
— Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

• CellarTracker – 96 Points (2015 Vintage)

About the Wine

Dan Standish — an alumnus of Torbreck and described by Joe Czerwinski as “the reigning king of Barossa Shiraz” — crafts The Schubert Theorem from century-old vines in the Vine Vale subregion.
Basket-pressed and aged for 30 months in French oak, the wine combines the intensity of Barossa fruit with a refined, Rhône-like structure.

Inky and deep purple in the glass, it displays aromas of Black Forest fruit, aniseed, spice, earth and dark chocolate. The palate is decadent and opulent yet balanced, with plum and liquorice interwoven through pure fruit and firm tannin. The finish is long, elegant and endlessly persistent — a benchmark of modern Barossa Shiraz.
