Penley Estate is situated in the heart of Coonawarra, Australia's renowned Cabernet region. Founded in 1988, the winery continues a five-generation family legacy as the Tolley siblings carry on the winemaking traditions of their pioneering families, Penfold and Tolley—both celebrated names in the Australian wine sector. Mary Penfold was a trailblazer in 1844, helping to establish McGill Estate, while Gladys Penfold Hyland served as Chairman of the Board at Penfold from 1948 to 1961. Today, sisters Bec and Ang Tolley proudly lead Penley Estate, honoring the spirit of their forebears.

Spanning 240 acres, Penley Estate's vineyards thrive on Coonawarra's distinctive "Terra Rossa" soils, aiming to produce wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. They are now recognized as leading producers of Cabernet and Shiraz.

At the helm of Penley’s winemaking is Kate Goodman, one of Australia’s premier contemporary winemakers. In 2018, her dedication was acknowledged when she was named “Winemaker of the Year” by the Australian Women in Wine awards.

Goodman’s experience includes roles at iconic Australian wineries, such as Wirra Wirra in McLaren Vale, Tim Kanppstein in Clare Valley, Seppelt in Great Western, and Punt Road in Yarra Valley, among others.
