About the Wine

The 2023 Château de Fuissé Bourgogne Blanc is a pure and expressive Chardonnay sourced from the vineyard Aux Drus, located in the village of Chasselas near the border of Beaujolais. The granite-based soils and northern exposure give this wine its signature freshness and precision.

The vineyard, replanted in 2009, lies on a steep 30% slope that benefits from cool breezes and late budburst, ensuring slow ripening and exceptional aromatic intensity. Its proximity to Saint-Véran and Pouilly-Fuissé contributes to the refined character that defines this Bourgogne Blanc.

Winemaking

Grapes are hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed using pneumatic presses with gentle, progressive cycles. Fermentation begins naturally with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks to preserve purity and terroir character.

The wine is matured on fine lees with periodic stirring (bâtonnage) to add roundness and texture. Most vintages undergo full malolactic fermentation to balance acidity. Final fining is done with natural bentonite clay before a light filtration and bottling under high-quality cork or technical closures.
