The 2018 Terra Felix Barossa Valley Shiraz is a testament to the exceptional vintage of that year in the Barossa region. This wine spent 22 months maturing in a combination of new French and American oak barrels, contributing to its depth and complexity.

In the glass, it presents an inky maroon, near-opaque hue. The nose is greeted with enticing aromas of dark cherries, clove spice, black pepper, and subtle hints of cinnamon.  These rich aromatics are complemented by undertones of leather, beef stock, aniseed, soy, redcurrants, chocolate, and warm earth.

On the palate, the wine offers a full-bodied experience with lashings of sweet blackberries framed by fine-grained tannins. The natural acidity ensures length, flavor, and intensity that lingers, while a sweet core of cassis and chocolate adds to its allure. The texture is seductive, with sleek tannins providing good length and maintaining intensity throughout. 

This Shiraz is already drinking beautifully and is expected to continue providing pleasure for at least another decade, making it a worthy addition to any cellar.
