This is dense and delicious Cabernet with sagebrush and crushed mint aromas that combine with cassis, and shades of black licorice. A single-vineyard cabernet sauvignon from Light Pass in the Barossa Valley, matured in French oak (33% new) for 18 months. Deep crimson with lifted aromas of red and blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry fruits with underlying hints of fine spice, red and purple flowers, rosehip, light sous bois, pastis, licorice, cedar and earth. Nicely focused with fine tannin and good sustain and elegant fruit depth on the finish. 93 points, Wine Companion (March 2023)
