Vaillons benefits from its south and east exposure, soaking in the morning sun. Its shallow topsoil overlays a subsoil rich in Kimmeridgian limestone, with compact slabs in some areas. Situated on the left bank of the Serein River, it was among the first climats on this side to earn Premier Cru status. However, the sticky surface clay requires meticulous effort to achieve its full potential.  

This wine is a standout, offering vibrant citrus, white flowers, brisk acidity, and a solid structure. Flavors of lemon, green apple, liquid minerals, river stones, and hints of straw, honey, and lime zest unfold beautifully. The palate gains richness while maintaining tension and balance, showcasing a pure Chardonnay core with Chablis terroir hallmarks—flinty spice, tangy crispness, and subtle notes of clove, fig, and hazelnut in the background.
